Does it work? has it ever worked?

Wghen i attempt to e-mail anyone (including myself) it ALWAYS says:

"Sorry! That user has specified that they do not wish to receive emails. If you still wish to send an email to this user, please contact the administrator and they may be able to help."

I for one insisted people be able to e-mail me and included my e-mail address. 😡

So what's up with that? 😕

No, we don't want to expose our guests email addresses or open a pathway for spambots to send messages. The PM feature is safer and more easily regulated.

interesting..then why do you have it set up so we think we can e-mail others. I have bene on other forums where you can e-mail person via the discussion board. One can not see the person's e-mail to whom you are sending the message. The sender obviously knows his/her e-mail will be shown to the receiver so the receiver can e-mail back if the so choose. Wouldn't this work the same way on SDN? I'm all for privacy but i think this is a great feature.

We used to allow it, but it was abused and we used to get complaints. The PM feature works well for everyone, making the email option redundant.

So, why does the email option remain even though it's disabled? It's just the way the software is written.
