Hi, I get the difference between the two -- but which does the MCAT prefer us to use? For instance, when it asks: what is the shape of the molecule XeF4, does it want us to say trigonal pyramidal or square planar? In the same way, should we say XeF2 is linear or trigonal bipyramidal? Kaplan is not consistent here, and I don't know which one the MCAT would prefer!

Thanks so much in advance!

if that's all the question stem says, use molecular geometry.. they will most likely specify when tehy want you to use electronic geometry
