to get splitting, the h's can be no more than 3 bonds away correct? So what happens if there are double bonds, do they count as 1 or 2 bonds when seeing if the H's are 3 bonds away.

what is more stable, a tertiary carbon with 3 benzenes or tertiary carbon with 3 allyl's?

how many tripeptides can be formed from a alanine and 2 valines?
AVV, VAV, VVA so 3 but 2 are same so is answer 2 tripeptides?

Double bonds will count as 1 bond but will have a slightly inductive affect showing a peak slightly downstream from what it would be without the double bond.

I would say the benzenes??

I dont think AVV is the same as VVA because the former has an alanine on its C-terminus and valine on its N-terminus, while the latter has a valine on it C terminus and alanine on its N-terminus...
