this just in: whiskers is an embarassment to podiatry

yea... i was just joking.

but it does seem he is pessimistic quite often.

Let's keep it civil here people. Whiskers, I really don't think this is a very big deal and is more over a waste of the legal systems time. While I don't condone the "sign and dash", it is done in many professions and done often. It is the job of the doctor to stay current and not some weekend seminar set up by drug and medical reps to take a trip and play with "new toys". I feel that the whole CPME credit system for license renewal is a waste of time.

And as far as "professional embarassment" is concerned, I'm sure we could all find much worse examples all throughout the medical field period.

This argument among the board of the MPMA should have been resolved internally. Unfortunately, it was taken public and only proved to make bad press for podiatrists, and allowed for inflammatory headlines such as: "More Professional Embarrasment." This isn't an embarrassment to the profession of podiatry, but to the few members of the board that couldn't resolve their issues professionally.

Whiskers, this is an interesting case but, with all due respect, posts with inflammatory titles like these are irresponsible and lend to an unwarranted negative image of podiatry.

I don't know, to me it looks like the MPMA has but the black eye on podiatry. There stupidity is an embarrassment to our profession, so I felt the title is valid.

I honestly don't think it is a very big deal. As stated before, this is often done in many fields of medicine as you are required to attend these CME functions and acquire credits to maintain a current license (which is a joke). The only difference is that someone decided to make a big deal out of it, probably for some political reason. This is absolutely NOT A BIG DEAL and far worse things happen everyday in medicine.

all i meant was that he goes to every single forum on sdn... it wasnt meant to be "name calling". i can come up with better names than that. sorry.
