Alright so I accidentally signed up for this upper level online science elective which I finished over 2 years ago and it is now after the drop date without getting a W, the university allows us to retake classes and I guess this is why I was able to sign up for it even though I got an A the first time. I have two options the first is to petition to drop it without getting a W, (but then I will have only 11 credit and my advisor said that it would look bad to have less than 14 credits a semester.) Of course they might reject me. I can also petition a late add to another class while doing this, but the chances of getting approved as well as being able to drop this class I feel are slim to none. Option B would be to just retake the class and get another A in it. Though I am not sure what med schools will think of it when I go to my interviews. I only needed three credits this semester to graduate and the only reason I took 14 credits was to have another competitive semester, so I feel if I just drop the class I will have taken 11 credits of difficult sciences while still remaining as non-full time and looking weak in my application. What do you guys suggest I do.

What is this class? Anyway you can justify retaking it as a refresher? Or is it completely useless?

11 credits won't look bad. Having to explain taking a d dropping a course you've already taken might show poor attention to detail. Taking it and getting another A will probably go unnoticed by med schools, and if they notice, try explaining it as taking it as a refresher for the MCAT/med school etc (if applicable).

It is introduction to physical immunology. I can argue that since I took it over the summer the first time I didn't retain the information I suppose.
