So motor neurons cell bodies are located in the spinal cord and their axons leave to synapse with the muscle. SO they are part of the Central nervous system right?

we also have spinal nerves that synapse with sympathetic nerves at ganglia. which makes the classification of SNS and PNS nerves as being part of the Peripheral nervous system logical.

sensory neurons are peripheral because their cell bodies lie outside the spinal cord?

For motor neurons, it is important to distinguish between upper motor neurons and lower motor neurons. Upper motor neurons have their cell bodies located in the cerebral cortex or brainstem and synapse on lower motor neurons in the spinal cord. Thus, upper motor neurons are considered part of the CNS. Lower motor neurons have their cell bodies in the anterior horns of the spinal cord and synapse on muscles in the periphery. Despite the location of the cell bodies, lower motor neurons are considered to be part of the PNS.

i see okay thank you so much. i was so confused because the cell body is located in the spinal cord yet i saw it categorized under the PNS.

alll fitting together!
