Hello, just wondering if anyone has applied to Mount St. Joseph for this year. As anybody interviewed there before or even visited the campus? What did you think about it?

I have applied and have an interview in the next couple weeks. I haven't heard anything about the interview process, but the school is very small. However, I've only heard great things about the program (from former PT's). I wish I knew someone to ask about the interview!

Oh wow you already know you have an interview? Did you apply by September 1st? Thats cool though good luck with that! Where else did you apply to if you don't mind me asking?

I applied at the end of September, but somehow I got an early interview. My stats aren't that great, especially my GRE. I don't mind at all! I applied to MSJ, Toledo, Walsh, Bellarmine, Radford, and Rockhurst. Would have applied to UC but I didn't even meet their minimum GRE scores. What about you?

I wish I would have applied at lot sooner but I did around mid October. That's kind of cool I also applied to MSJ, Rockhurst, and I applied to Wingate. I was going to apply to Bellarmine, but decided against it because I was already past the deadline. Thats interesting though because I looked at all of those schools. I don't have great stats either, especially my writing part for the GRE.

cGPA: 3.19 PTCAS
science and math: 2.83, but I have a lot of retakes so it puts me at around 3.3
GRE: 152V 152Q 3 AWA 🙁

I hoping my personal statement will make up for the writing part lol. What are your stats?

I also have an interview coming up on the 21st, and I have been to their campus a few times. It is tiny (smaller than my high school) but I have many family members who went there and have never had anything bad to say about the school. I have also worked with PTs who graduated from their program, and have even heard of a few clinics here in Cincinnati that pull directly from the program to look for PTs to work for them. All have enjoyed their time in the program. If you're looking for a small school that will provide little distractions during your time there, then Mt. St. Joe could be a good fit.

Exercise Science
I graduated with a 3.74 (didn't apply last year because I took all my chem, bio, and physics my senior year) Taking Healthcare Ethics currently online
science and math 3.62/ just science 3.57
self reported prerequisite GPA from PTCAS 3.63
GRE scores 145v 149q 4.5w (the mount admissions told me that my writing would help the horrible scores)

I agree with everything 041892 said about the school. MSJ and Rockhurst would be my top choices, but I haven't heard anything from Rockhurst and I know they already gave out their December interview invites :/

041892, have you heard anything about the interviews at the Mount? This will be my first interview and I'm pretty nervous. I also have one at Toledo on December 12th. Did you apply to other Ohio schools?

aprixx13, did you get the email about what to expect during the interview? I just got it yesterday and it went into a little more detail of what the interview will be like. It said there will be 3 applicants and it looked like 5ish people asking questions, and each of the applicants gets turns to answer the questions first. It sounded like the interview was going to be more about the PT profession and less about us as individual applicants. I've never had a group interview before so I'm kinda nervous about it. I did apply to other Ohio schools; I also applied to Toledo (interview), OU (rejected), UC, and Dayton.

Congrats on your acceptance! That must be nice to know that you know you will be in class somewhere next year! Good job. The Rockhurst interview went pretty well. Very small but I liked the campus. It was one on one for the interview. I found out I got waitlisted which is alright since they do take a lot of people off of the waitlist. However, I just found out that I have an interview at MSJ for Jan 9th! I'm pretty excited for it. Since you got accepted there maybe you could give me a few pointers? 🙂

I also applied to Mount and am waiting to hear back.. Any idea when they send out the next round? Also commenting so I can follow the post for interview advice if I get one!
