My total study time is 5 weeks, and am through three of those weeks, with my test in 2 weeks.

I took nbme 1 pre-study and got a 228.
I took nbme 6 today after 3 weeks of study after getting thru everything, plus half of UW and got a 245.

245 far surpasses my goals/expectations and I would be beyond thrilled to get that score. I am curious if anyone in my shoes would move their test up or just leave it at the 2 weeks. I think i can definately study hard for 2 more weeks, I still have half of UW plus a LOT of explanations to read, I feel like I know no pharm/anat/embryo/biochem and really just lucked out since it seemed nbme6 was kind in that regard.

With all that said, would anyone push their date up, or just keep trucking for the 2 more wks.

I'm pretty much in the exact same shoes as you. Took nbme 3 and 4 got 226,228 on them and just took nbme 6 a few days ago and got a 242. My exam right now is for the last week of June, I think I might leave mine there, just so that I can ensure myself at least a decent score. If i got the same score on my nbme 6 on the real thing i would be absolutely elated. have you gotten through all the material? what are your weaknesses, maybe you can hit up all your weaknesses in the next 2 or 3 days ago and then reassess. Sounds like you're in great shape though!

best of luck

how long did you study b/w nbme3/4 and 6? i've only taken 1 and 6...did you think 6 was WAY easier than 3/4 and could be over-predicting our scores, or did it seem on par with those?

good luck to you!!

I studied right around 3 weeks and then took 6. In that 3 weeks I probably did around 1000 world questions or so. I did feel that 6 was slightly easier than number 3. Now whether this was due to more prep or the test itself, i don't know. 6 is the newest one out there, but also has the least amount of people that took it, so it's difficult to compare our scores with other people who already took step 1. Going by the fact that it's the most recent, it might be an accurate reflector of our prognosis. who the hell knows! these damn usmle people are so freakin secretive about everything, wish those ###holes would just give us some insight.

overall, i thought 3 was the toughest, then probably 4 and 6 were right around the same level of difficulty. Historically, from my uworld qbank and my nbme progress reports, anatomy has been one of my weaknesses, but I got a star in the anatomy section on numbr 6. But i did feel that the anaotmy questions on nbme 6 were things that i knew also.

what are your thoughts?

haha ya we are the same person i think! i will most likely keep my date the same too, last week of june, b/c i feel there is a lot i have left to brush up on. i'm glad to hear you say you thought nbme 6 was similar to 4....i was just afraid it was an nbme 5 type test, maybe - lots of sdn'ers claim that is way too easy. although i think they're all standardized, so it really shouldn't matter. with 2 weeks of good work left and good scores on our most recent nbme common sense tells me that we should get 240+ on the real thing...that's pretty exciting 🙂

I'm in the exact same boat. i tried to move my test up but no spots were available. i wish so much that i was able to move it up.

nbme 6 = 238 before studying
nbme 3 = 263 after ~3 wks days of 16+ hour study days (sort of burned myself out going at that pace, but picking up the pace again now)

hindsight is 20/20. wish so much that i had scheduled for early june. crap.

before taking any nbme i would have been thrilled with a 235+. Honestly, even with my crazy score on nbme 3, i'd still be damn happy with a 235+. that's a fine score.
