MPH, MBA in addition to an MD???

Hey everyone,
I was wondering, Ive been hearing of alot of ppl taking years off to complete MPHs or MBAs in additon to their MD; in addition to MD/MBA; MD/MPH programs. Are these really useful in the long run? What type of medicine or career goals would these additional degrees facilitate? Thanks for any info in advance.
If you're getting your MPH, MBA or anyother degree in addition to your MD please provide some insight...THANKS!

I am definately considering an MPH MBA. I mean opportunities seem really vast once you have these degrees, especially in the private sector.... nonetheless, I am yet to meet someone who has actually done it and now uses the degrees

I'm getting an MPH now and it's a wonderful education. Personally, I knew next to nothing about healthcare beforehand, so my returns from my coursework are huge, and I feel like I'll have a huge advantage when I go out to be a doctor in terms of having a handle on healthcare and understanding its trends and directions. I'm taking a class this summer on leadership, where one of the things I'll be learning is how doctors can use their roles and influence to affect change in the healthcare world.

Even if you don't want to go into administration, I think an MPH is a very valuable degree in terms of granting you insight into your future profession.

I'll have those three degrees in a few years' time - working on the MD and the MPH is almost done. Finished the MBA last year. Want to go into international health - possibly health policy and finance. Was really never a set-out plan from the start - just one thing leading to another and here I am.
