i really want to do an MPH, but i would also really like to travel during a year off, so i have come up with the solution to try to do an MPH in another country. does anyone have any experience with this or can lend me some information about the pros/cons that they actually know about. i am in my second year of med school so i know that at the end of this year is a good time to take a year off. cheers.

the london school of hygeine and tropical medicine has an excellent reputation. i don't know anything about their mph program (i looked into their drph program), but most masters degree programs in the uk consist almost entirely of research. that means very little (if any) coursework. so just be careful if you are looking for more of a classroom experience. again, i don't know anything about that particular program! it may not be as research oriented as most masters programs in the uk.
lshtm is really the only school i seriously considered, so i can't help you out much more than that. i had a pretty difficult time finding drph programs in other countries that i could apply to but mph programs are likely more numerous.
