Hi, my exam is coming up and I was confused about a few things, please let me know if you know the answer.
1) How long are new drugs protected by a patent? I've seen 17 years and 20 years.
2) Are drugs that are "grandfathered" exempt from proving therapeutic equivalence?
3) Why are faxed refill authorizations for CIII-V not permitted when oral prescriptions are?
i.e. an original Rx for Norco has no refills, and the pharmacy has faxed the dr to ask for a refill
4) Fot therapeutic equivalence, if drug 1 has A and drug 2 has AB are they equivalent? or only A and A are equivalent and AB and AB?
5) If there is no date on a CII rx, can I call the dr. and write it on the rx or does the patient need a new rx?
