I have a pt right now with culture proven mrsa pyelonephritis. this is a first for me. are you guys seeing a lot of this?
 
Interesting information, please make sure you publish a letter or a case report in one of the medical journals. I have not seen this association, will be interesting to know the symptoms, signs and biochemistry. Medifix
 
Yikes E. I've seen a couple MRSA UTIs (both nosocomial, Foleys). But nobody really sick like pyelo. It's MRSA Central down south, at least where I live. Interesting.
 
I spoke with I.D. and they wanted him treated as an outpt with iv vanco q 12 hrs x 10 days by pic line.
guy has some weird gu anatomy and a nephrostomy due to recurrent uti's with retention. this is his 1st mrsa pyelo though. the rest have been e. coli
