Hey all,
I'm a soon to be MS1 this coming August. A popular question among those who've found out I'll be attending medical school this year is, "What kind of doctor do you want to be?" And normally, I'd respond along the lines of "I'm just glad I made it!" Well now that I've been looking at specialties with a more critical eye, (and perhaps I haven't had enough exposure to other fields to make such a crucial decision this early on) but I've come to find that Emergency Medicine seems pretty interesting and exciting. I've been reading through the posts in this forum for quite some time, but haven't really voiced any questions... now I was hoping that maybe those of you applying to residency and those already settled could provide me with some more basic info about EM- i.e. hours - schedule /training/salary? I'm also a woman and hope to one day have a family of my own... is it feasible to be both physician and suitable mother in this field?
Thanks!
