Hey Everyone,

So I'm an MS1 and I applied to the MSTP program at my university this year. I got an interview and I think it went Ok, but the program director seemed really hesitant to accept a first year student. I got waitlisted, and I've been sending as many updates as possible regarding grades and stuff to let him know I'm interested.

To get to the point, I got an email saying they wouldn't be able to make any final decision until they finalize the 2015 class in May (that seemed really obvious but I don't know). However, he did ask for a list of professors I would want to do rotations with if I am accepted.

So I'm not sure if this email is good news, bad news, or nothing really. Do most programs already have a good idea who will attend by now, or is there considerable movement in the late spring/summer? Is it a good thing he asked for a list of who I want to work with at this point? Does everyone on a waitlist get an email like this?

Thanks so much for any input. We've got finals next week and I'm kind of going crazy with things.
