MS4 DO deciding whether to take USMLE Step 2...input appreciated!!!

Hi All!

I have a dilemma and was hoping to get some input

I am currently a DO MS4 applying to allopathic IM residencies

USMLE step 1: 218
COMLEX step 1: 573
COMLEX step 2: 513

Im deciding whether or not to take the USMLE step 2. Right now Im planning on it but worried about the fact that it is a little late. If I take it it will be around mid October.

the programs im applying to are mid to lower tier university programs and community programs. I have applied to 50 so far.

Is it essential for me to take USMLE step 2?

I would assume that you would go up. The new avg was a 237...
