hi, sorry to bug you all with applicant questions...this won't take long, i promise... i was wondering about waitlists and those curious letters of intnet/interest. i've heard at some schools they matter more than others. i can't write a letter of intent, because since i need to match locations with my husband i can't promise i will definitely go anywhere. i've been waitlisted at mssm, cornell, and brown. did any of you current students at these schools get off the waitlist- and if so, did you write a letter of intent/interest before getting off the waitlist? how about your other classmates? i was thinking about writing a letter of interest to each of the schools and just emphasizing what i like most about the schools and why i am a good fit for the class. however i am really stressing over the letters, and am worried that i could perhaps do more harm than good...any thoughts? and if i should send the letter- when? now? right before may 15th? thanks for your help!!! : )

it doesn't matter -- if you don't go, there's nothing that will happen to you. write letters of intent to everywhere. send them immediately, and follow-up often.
good luck!

Definetely send the letters - at least stating your expressed interest. Send them now - why wait? I don't know how much of a difference it will make, but it can't hurt. I was waitlisted at 3 schools last year (including Cornell), and I wrote two of them letters (but not to Cornell). I got off of Cornell's waitlist, but not the other two - go figure! Good luck!
