Has anybody heard back from MSUCOM after turning in their secondary? I turned in my secondary Feb 13th (on the deadline) but I haven't heard a word from them about an interview invite.

(By the way this is my first post ever, yay)

Congratulations! You are one step closer to becoming an SDN addict!
Welcome to SDN!!!

guess what!? MSUCOM doesn't do interviews anymore! i think that's insane.. but it's true. A couple of things.. you definitely should check back with the school and verify that your secondary was considered "complete". They have a mandatory and specific LOR form (so friggin' annoying!) and if you haven't submitted it... well, it's a pain in the ass.
I recently recieved a letter from them stating: Congrats! due to your outstanding academic achievements you have been placed on our waiting list for fall 2006. We would like to offer you a tour of the school.. this is your chance to 'interview us' and see the campus.
When i went there, it really was a tour, with the DOA and some med students. .. weird.
apparently, they had some issues with wrongful discrimination during interviews and have henceforth deemed it unecessary.
Best of luck to you!... call them ASAP!

Thanks for the advice. I just gave them a call and they said my application is under review and they will let people know around the end of the month (of March I'm guessing). I also asked the woman if it was true that they were not holding any more interviews, however she said that it was not completely true but only "true in some cases" but she failed to elaborate. I swear that some of these admissions people used to work for the CIA. Congrats on the waiting list by the way.

yeah, it was a sketchy "tour". I wound up talking with the DOA for a long time.... it felt very much like a normal interview... only, it wasn't.
also, you may already know... but MSUCOM starts at the end of June!! rumor has it they have a huge jumble in admissions between april/may because students grab better offers, wait until fall for dif. schools... etc...
good luck!

Huh. When did they stop interviewing? I had an interview offer (oos) back in September. turned it down - couldn't afford the oos tuition.

well, maybe they interview oos?!? i'm surprised to hear that. When i was there, i was told that after evaluating their admissions / interview process, it turned out that the comittee was rejecting a specific minority group, a clear sign of failure to cross culture boundaries...
sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen..
anyway... good call on deferring, that oos tuition is IN-FRIGGIN'-SANE!! totally unjustified!
where'd you choose instead? and why?... post that answer on my other thread that i started...

MSUCOM has had all my materials since last November and I am still waiting to hear anything! Let me know what you find out if you hear something. I had heard about the interview issue, but did not realize that that is what it was about. Good luck if you get an interview or a letter!

CHOIRGIRL!!!
call them ASAP!!! they probably have all of your materials... EXCEPT their stupid LOR form. If your recommenders don't fill out the MSUCOM form, your app is as good as garbarge.
Call now!
goodluck...
if they give you crap about not meeting the deadline because of that letter, and you feel you're a worthy candidate you should definitely fight it and write something to the Dean and the director of admissions... (show your undying interest)
