MSUCOM

It would be best to use the search function located in the top right hand corner so that you can see if your question has been answered before.
I'll bite though. MSUCOM is among the best D.O. schools in the country. It has solid research facilities, and produces students that match competitive ACGME residencies each year. I would imagine that a school like MSUCOM would allow job prospects in most areas, not just Michigan.
Only downside I can think of offhand is OOS tuition.

I've done a campus visit at MSUCOM. It is a wonderful place, especially the East Lansing and Detroit campus. The students seemed very nice, and the administration seemed to really care about their students. I know a few people who go to MSUCOM, and they have had great experiences thus far.

DO anesthesiologists are required to practice in Michigan, regardless of where they did residency.....

MSUCOM is one of best DO programs.

Outside of academics, I have had many incredible nights in East Lansing. It can be quite a good time if you can handle the winters!

One of the top COMs.
Whats everyones opinion of this school? whats it like to be a student in East Lansing and is it possible to work as a DO anesthesiologist in a city like Denver, or only Michigan?

Nah I was being sarcastic, referencing the question above from OP

Oh, absolutely, only in Michigan. Similar to how MD's can only work in cities like New York and LA.
Yes, any licensed DO regardless of school, can practice anywhere in the country.

Yes, MSUCOM is a top DO school, but the tuition is bonkers unaffordable.

I don't read post histories. That's like gathering a med. history. Who does that or why would they? He's OOS, he's demonstrated in his post history he really doesn't know a lot about MSUCOM.
That's not what I meant. Haven't you seen him all over the msucom thread?!I don't read post histories. That's like gathering a med. history. Who does that or why would they?

Nahbrah.
Solid school for sure, i was largely impressed by the massive amounts of OPTI and from what ive heard good rotations. Good research opportunities too if youre into that.
EL is nice, some bars, some alright food options, MSU cafes are amazing, plenty of places to study, and basically everything you need as a student! The campus is beautiful when its not winter, and its enormous. However it is a college town and theres lots of hooligans, so if you live near campus theres a 90% chance at least one of your neighbors will be throwing a loud party every night lol
If youre OOS id suggest looking into possible scholarships tho, as its quite the hefty price tag.

Ik man I need to find out how to get those scholarships
Yeah apparently they offer one to OOS that knocks it down to ~65k, but I have no idea how you get it. Maybe find an out of state student in the school specific forums.

Great school but OOS is preposterous.
