I talked with my advisor about how I'm interested in pathology, but my gpa is low and I'm already a senior with around 3.0. I'm taking chem 2 this summer, org 1 fall, org 2 spring, and biochem next summer if I continue with the neuroscience degree, otherwise I have an option to get into an MT program starting next summer, which would delay or replace the neuroscience degree.

My advisor thinks I would be better suited for the MT since my gpa sucks.
I also have a ton of W's on my transcript..

As far as ec's .. I have worked at a teaching hospital for 6 years with clinical experience part of the time as a nurse assistant and a surgical tech, and did some volunteer work a year ago.

Realistically, if I did more volunteering and do well on the mcat, should I disregard advisor's thoughts and keep pursuing medicine?

Please and thank you for advice!
