STUDY: 1 hour 52 minutes, taking 3 minute breaks every 20 minutes of study i.e. (6.40-8.32)
#1. 6.40-7
#2. 7.03-7.23
#3. 7.26-7.46
#4. 7.49-8.09
#5. 8.12-8.32

BIG BREAK: 1 hour 12 minutes of a big break (8.32-9.44) i.e.
#6. 8.35-8.55
#7. 8.58-9.18
#8. 9.21-9.41

STUDY: The cycle continues throughout the day until 19.29 i.e. 9.44-11.36, 12.48-14.30, 15.42-17.34, 18.46-19.29. 7 hours 20 minutes of study, excluding breaks.

Forced by circumstances to enroll in a mandatory attendance med school (8:00-15:30 average day), I estimate about 8.333 hour study TOTAL for 5 weekdays + 14.666 hour study TOTAL for the whole weekend = 23 hours minimum of study per week, excluding breaks. Any thoughts, please?

I find the majority of my retention comes somewhere between the minutes of 20 to 40, so I try to do 50 minutes at a time with a 10-15 minute break. YMMV. Ultimately, no one will be able to give you the magic formula for your studying. If you have something planned that works, do it that way.

I use osmosis and sleep with the book under my pillow. Bad for my neck. Good for my grades.

On a real note, this post is way over thought. Do what you feel you need to do. You'll find your study niche and it will fall into place.

Edit: and there are wayyyy too many double digits after your decimals. You didn't even factor in time for a good poop.

Micromanaging to this degree doesn't seem that helpful.
Unfortunately, if I don't have it that well planned, I begin to panic because my day seems unpredictable. Say i begin late at #3 instead of #1: because i have to do five 20 minutes before big break, i will easily tell when it begins i.e. #8 instead of #6. That saves me stress as i don't feel I'm losing control of the situation and I also can easily see how much time in the day i have free, meaning i can easily split my tasks without new scheduling. Anyway, I truly appreciate your response.

Maybe the schedule is too boring to go through, otherwise you'd tell i have 1 hour 12 minutes of 'good poop time' after every 1 hour 52 minutes of study, but thanks for your input.

How long before you need your bigger break? Just curious. Thanks for your response.

My condolences...that's all I have to say.
I can't complain though; it's a free scholarship, allowance and guaranteed furnished accommodation within school walking distance (1/4 mile). I'm in an African country where we are spoiled all the way due to dire shortage of doctors. (Then again, only 50 are accepted among countless applicants.) Thanks for your response.

So you're scheduling your poops? Make sure to schedule exactly when you eat and drink anything so your bathroom breaks coincide with your study breaks and you don't get 2 or 3 minutes off-schedule and ruin your entire day.

Well if this schedule works for you then it sounds fine.

Thank you. It is too boring for me to tell your poop time to the 0.00 second

I can appreciate that 🙂. I may be a female but I'm here to address to unmentionable: everybody poops.

As long as your taking bowel breaks- you stick to that study schedule!
