Hello everyone,

Just wondering, how do you guys deal with letters of recommendation when applying for scholarships, internships, jobs, etc., when there's only a certain number of professors you know well? It seems like I'll have to ask for multiple LORs from the same professors, but worry about being a burden.

You will likely have to ask the same professors for letters to different things. As long as you're not asking like every month, it shouldn't be a problem. You could also let them know in advance that you're going to need x number of letters for purposes a b and c, so they might draft one letter and modify it to suit each purpose.

It is standard to get letters from the same people.

Don't worry about it; it's their job. I do this for my own students, and will tweak one LOR ( for, say, a scholarship) into one for a residency. Your professors will do the same.

Thanks you guys! I don't feel as bad for asking now, if this sort of thing is standard.
