Sorry guys if this question has been asked many times before, but I have not yet found it in my personal searches...Seeing how (for better or for worse), one's MCAT seems to be such a defining characteristic throughout this application process, could someone please help me with this very basic question?

I took the MCAT three times, each time not scoring higher than 25, but if you are to take the three highest individual marks of the last two tests, I would have a 29. Now I know that a couple allopathic schools to which I am applying explicitly say they take the highest individual marks, but what do osteopathic schools tend to do? I have an interview at an osteopathic school coming up, and I'd just like to know how my numbers stack up....that is, once I figure out which number to use!

Also, as a general rule, when a multiple test-taker reports his marks on here, does he take the three highest individual ones? Sorry for potentially sounding neurotic, but I trust that I am in empathetic company.

Hi, I haven't heard anything about Osteopathic Schools taking the highest scores from each section. I would assume they take the highest overall, but I could be wrong. You could always call the school, or email them and ask about it.

I would not worry to much about the scores, remember that the national average for acceptance in to D.O. school is around 24-25 so you should be ok. Just be sure you have a good response to why your scores were such because I'm pretty sure that they will ask you about it.

GOOD LUCK!!
