I just had a question for you guys. If you get a call from a school and it's not your number one choice, what do you do? Can you call #1 and ask what their deal is? just wondering. I have a feeling i might be in the position.

If you get a call from a school and it's not your number one choice, you still take it and continue to wait for #1.

what do you do? are you willing to give up getting an MD just cause you can't go to your 1st choice? this is a joke right?

what exactly is your dilemma 😕
one waitlist has nothing to do with the other

I thought that when you accept somewhere after may 15, you have to give up on other schools. You can accept one place and continue to waitlist at other schools? I thought accepting somewhere after may 15 forfeits status at other schools.

The way it works is like this:

If you get an acceptance at any point after May 15th... all you have to do is decide between the school you were already holding onto versus the school that just accepted you. You may remain on all other waitlists.

After May 15 you can only hold one acceptance, but can stay on as many waitlists as you want. Take the first one that calls you. If you are accepted to a school that you like better than some of your other waitlists, remove yourself from them, but stay on any of schools you like better than where you are accepted. You only have to remove yourself from waitlists the day orientation or classes start. Before that, you can stay on as many as you like. If you are accepted off a waitlist after you are aleady in somewhere, you make a very quick decision, and turn one school down.

That's news to me! Thanks everyone. That makes me feel a lot better.

Welcome to SDN, Dave! Good luck getting in off the waitlist at your #1 choice!! 🙂

That's if you didn't send a letter of intent to the school that just accepted you.
