Hey guys, so MUSC is my top choice school. I go to College of Charleston which is right next door and I've been wanting to get into this program for awhile now. Has anyone else applied and heard anything from them? Does anyone know when they send out letters?

Their website says "Acceptances offered February - March"
 
They won't send anything until late February or early March. If you get wait listed then you could find out up until the day before orientation in May
 
Heard back today. I'm on the alternate list
 
Can anyone who got accepted or waitlisted share stats? I'm applying next cycle and want to see if I'm competitive. Thank you all!
 
Have you heard anything back from MUSC?! I got put on the alternate list there.

Hey! What are your stats? Trying to find out where I am on the waiting list! I know people who have already gotten off of it.
 
Hey! My overall GPA 3.37, Science GPA 3.7, 400 hours shadowing experience. Lots of volunteer work. I won't be accepting my spot at MUSC.

First off, congratulations on getting accepted! When will you be notifying MUSC?
 
I did not get accepted, I just meant I will not be accepting my spot. Already going to a different school.

I was put on the alternate list last year in early March, and they didn't notify me that I didn't get a spot until the day before the class orientation started in May.
 
But it will be different this year because they are using PTCAS for the first time.

Really? That's crazy!!! Any advice on the process? I know there are no interviews! Did you just wait it out! Thank you!

Yeah I heard last year they sent out decisions in mid February but they are trying to send them out earlier this year

Yeah it was the only school I applied to last year for personal reasons so I just waited it out. MUSC is very responsive, and they appreciate communication with applicants. But that's the only thing you can do is wait it out.
 
Hey I know the answer is probably no but has anyone heard yet/emailed and asked when we would hear? MUSC is my top choice but I had to put a deposit on another school and I feel like I need to start looking for possible roommates (others already are) in case I don't get in to MUSC. Oh the waiting process. Thanks in advance🙂

I actually emailed them and they said we wouldn't hear back until mid to late-Feb. I'm anxiously waiting, as well. It's my last school I haven't hear from yet!
 
MUSC sent out admissions decisions via email this afternoon. I was waitlisted! Good luck to everyone

I was waitlisted too! Does anyone know how many they waitlist and accept?

I was waitlisted, as well. It's also my top choice!! I agree does anyone know how many people they normally accept/waitlist first round? Also, when do people who were accepted have to put a deposit down by?! Thank you!
 
I applied last term as well and was waitlisted. Last term they accepted I believe 65-69 applicants. I (obviously) never received an acceptance. And they are unable to tell you your position on the waitlist. However, they didn't send out admissions decisions until end of Feb last year so hopefully the month ahead this term helps us all out!

Thanks for the info! I know you probably are not sure but do you know when people have to put down deposits by? I know it doesn't say in our email...but do you know by chance from last cycle how long they were given?

I too was waitlisted.
 
Seems like a lot of people were waitlisted! From reading from last years class it seems like almost everyone was waitlisted last year too! I wonder how many they waitlist

I was also accepted but will likely be declining so hopefully that will help someone get in! The deposit is due February 15th.
 
I am not 100% sure, but I believe my friend who was accepted last term said she had 2 weeks to accept/decline and 30 days to put down a deposit.

Hey guys,

I was waitlisted last year as well and was accepted on March 4th so don't give up. I know someone in our class this year who was accepted 2 weeks before class started so don't give up hope. Seems like a lot get accepted off waitlist. If anyone has any questions about the program id be happy to help. Best wishes to all!
 
I'd be immensely grateful if someone would give a few of the reasons they chose to attend/apply to MUSC over USC-Columbia or compared the two programs. I've been accepted to both and, being from the west coast, haven't had a chance to visit yet. I'm trying to choose between them.
 
I was denied by USC but accepted at MUSC today!
 
I would like to, but now I'm currently in a situation where I need to take abnormal psych. Hopefully I'll get into a class.

Just found out I've been accepted into the program!!! My number 1 school, and I will be accepting my offer. Congrats on everyone else, and for those who were waitlisted, don't give up hope!
 
I don't think I'm going to attend though! Texas Woman's University has much cheaper tuition! I'm from New York State!

Does anyone know if they have already started accepting people off the waitlist? I know quite a few people will be turning down their spots and I was wondering if they have already started accepting others to replace them. Thanks!
 
Just got pulled from the waitlist! Excellent school in a great location. Very exciting!
