I know they don't accept a lot of out of staters......

MUSC is a great school, they have a small class size and all of the students there seemed to love it. I applied there last year but unfortunately was not accepted. They put a lot of emphasis on shadowing and tend to care about your PAT score more than other schools. They accept about 55 students a year (5 of which are out of state) and charge 80,000 per year for in-state students and around 225,000 per year for out of state. MUSC is located in Charleston, SC (which is a great city with a moderate cost of living). This is my number 1 choice and I would recommmend the school to anyone.

I am an out of stater, and applied this year but haven't heard anything. I know they accept a small number of us, so frankly, I'm not betting on anything from them.

I do have a big question though, do you mean $80,000 and $225,000 per year respectively, or is that the total estimated cost of tuition?? Seems kind of steep to be just per year to me!

I am an out of stater, and applied this year but haven't heard anything. I know they accept a small number of us, so frankly, I'm not betting on anything from them.

It is total cost of tuition for 4 years. I apologize for the mistake in the previous post.

i absolutely LOVE the city of charleston. i mean the history, the culture, everything...anyway...as much as i would like to go there, i just can't see spending that kind of money on an out of state education. a buck fifty maybe, 225K...no so much!

If you are from Out of State, I would not apply to Musc at all. I am from NC and I don't know anyone that's ever gotten an interview there. I think they only accept ONE person from out of state every year. 😱
