So...I have several interviews coming up and was wondering what the "protocol" is when it comes to facial hair on men during interviews. I have had a mustache for the past three years and look very young/childish without it. Is a neatly trimmed mustache acceptable at interviews or do interviewees like to see men that are strictly clean shaven?

Not too keen on showing up with a mustache to an interview if it will make me the black sheep of the group, but would like to keep the mustache if at all possible.

I think if it is trimmed, neat, well kept and not a distraction you should be fine. I feel the same way without my mustache so I will have it throughout the cycle. I have already been to 1 of my 3 interviews and I really don't think it was a problem. Personal call though. Good luck at ur interviews!

Although I personally went clean shaven to my first interview, there were many people there with "stubble" or wearing other facial hair. I noticed a dental student with a serious handlebar and was thoroughly impressed. Your physical appearance definitely plays a part in how you'll be perceived, but what you say, how you say it, and how you carry yourself will probably be the trump cards. In an attempt to be as true to yourself as possible, I'd say keep the mustache if you've rocked it successfully for three years.

Oh dear, it must be app season. OP, as others have said, present whatever image you want. Nothing inherently wrong with a mustache.

My goatee is going with me. The pictures I've sent to some schools were with goatee and I still got interviews so I don't think it is a big issue.

Burt Reynolds Moustache: Acceptable

In fact, depending on your interviewer, could be a possible immediate acceptance.

Teen Wolf: Not Acceptable

Regardless of interviewer.
