Hey Guys
So I took my DAT yesterday and my scores were:
PAT - 19
RC - 20
BIO - 19
GC - 21
OC - 20
QR - 15
TS - 20
AA - 19

I have 300 Shadowing hours and approx 300 EC hours.

From AADSAS, my BCP GPA is 3.37, Overall 3.47 and Science 3.22. I am going to be a senior next year and I am URM.
I made a list of schools from the ADEA guide but I don't know if I should add or remove any school given my dreadful QR performance.

I didn't add Howard because I don't think I will be able to fit the 6 credits from Anatomy they ask to my schedule next year plus they have 18 cutoffs for each DAT category. Do I have a shot? I am open to any school, I just want to become a dentist! 🙂

I think your probably going to be ok. You should get a couple interviews with your stats. QR is believed to be the least important section on the DAT. I know a kid that got in with a 14 last year. Being a URM will also help.

And do you think the school list is fine like that?

I would just looks at each school requirements. I wanna say UF had a higher cutoff than 15. I can't remember.

Definitely look at the schools individually and/or call because I know a handful of schools have cut offs for their DAT scores all across the board (like at 17).

Yeah, I would have to call them to double check but my understanding is that their cutoff is 15.

I was also wondering if it should be ok to send the application now even though the DAT scores are not in AADSAS? My application is verified and LOEs are in so the only think missing are the scores.

Well, I submitted to one school when AADSAS opened so the GPA could be verified asap, now I can add more schools.

Yes you can submit the application now. The DAT scores don't show up on AADSAS for awhile..I took mine on the 10th of June and it still hasn't uploaded (expected day should be this Monday) so send schools a fax with your unofficial scores to speed up the process.

And don't feel bad. My scores are very similar to yours including the math section. I think as long as the sciences are high everything else is fine. Good luck!

You're welcome! And I think for UF a 15 in qr is not a big deal (at least that's what I've heard from students already enrolled). 🙂 crossing my fingers that it's true lol
