Hello everyone
I took the DAT on July 29 2011 and here's my result

AA 22
I have 3.99 overall GPA with 3.99 sGPA (with +/-, my GPA is 4.04 or something) . I have been working as a dental assistant for more than 3000 hrs. In addition, I've taken part in some extracurricular activities (but not much). This cycle, I'm applying for 9 schools: UCLA, UCSF, UN Las Vegas, Western, Midwestern , Uni of Florida, UOP, Uni of Arizona and UN of Oklahoma.
I'm kind of nervous now because I haven't done any volunteer yet. I hope I make it to some interviews (but not so sure if I'll get the invitation). So what do you think of my chance of getting interview invitation and admission? Thank you so much for your time and your feedback.

Shoot for a Masters and try to aim higher than a 4.04. You have to show them that you're capable of a Medical School course-load. Do 40 hours of research a week in an attempt to get published at LEAST twice during your Masters. Afterwards, apply and get accepted to Medical School and finish in 3 years, and do an 8 year Residency in Surgery, followed by a 4 year Fellowship in Pediatric Neurosurgery with an emphasis on tumors and cancer treatment. Shoot your hardest for a breakthrough in preventative cancer treatments and win the Nobel.

It's a long path but it all depends on how badly you want to become a Dentist. I think you can do it. Best of luck.

well there is still hope, so don't give up yet. You need to at the very least get a master's like someone suggested. I would retake anything you did not get at least an A+ in. You probably want to get a few months or even years of service in and maybe work in a dental office during that time, while doing a masters and maybe getting another major. If you can somehow cure cancer while your at it, I think you will be ok.

I would attempt to discover the origin of the rusty trombone. Then, look into discovering neural pathways of the taint. Then apply, and you may have an outside chance.

You guys are so funny. First of all, I am a senior and haven't finished my BS yet. I know my stats look good but the lack of community service/volunteer makes me nervous a bit. In addition, people usually apply for 15+ schools while I'm applying for only 9 and 2 of them are top schools (UCLA and UCSF), so I'm kind of worried about my chance. Lastly, there are people who got really good DAT scores in this forum (24+) , so I am not so sure about my chance.

24+ scores are rare accomplishments. Most of all the people who get that score is probably on this forum.

A 21AA is 94th percentile which means you are even higher than that. So, say 10,000 people take the test, 500 will be higher than you. Out of those 500, how many do you think will actually apply at your schools and block you from even getting an interview??

Zero.

You'll get an interview and you'll be on the same playing field.

Good luck!
