Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone could advice me on my chances for Cedar Sinai in LA and if it's worth even doing an audition rotation there?

Background:
- DO student / Complex 532 / STEP 1: 243 / STEP 2: taking it in a few months
- 6 Publications / 3 posters
- No ties back to California what so ever.

In general, do you think it is important to do audition rotation for an IM program? any advice is much appreciated!

Thank you,

Are their DOs in any of their classes?

Yes there are some back in 2014 or so...but ever since then, not so much. You think doing an audition rotation there would help?

If the PDs have changed since 2014 and once that happened there were no more DOs; alumni do not matter. Do an audition, check to see if it’s the same faculty as when there were DOs

Not sure if this type of thing would be too forward, but you could always try contacting the DO grads on that list posted above & see what the inside scoop is.

If they just happen to be alum from your school I'd bet they would give you some solid advice.

That's a really good advice! I really appreciate it!

I had similar scores to you and interviewed there. Did not match there, unfortunately. And from the list of residents they gave us during interview day, there aren't any DOs currently in the program except one 3rd year in the primary care track. I also did a rotation there and got a great LOR and evaluation. They're really not DO friendly.

Thank you for your input, ya they seem to be not DO friendly at all and maybe that makes sense being in Cali
