From what I hear, older students are generally stronger candidates than third year undergrads, is that true?

i'm not sure about the whole older candidate thing...but judging from your stats i believe you are a competative candidate

your prepharm gpa is what will get you interviews (did for me)

I graduated from a Business school in 2002 and have been working in the financial industry for 6 years. I also studied in Italy for 1 yr back in 2000.

I graduated with a 3.0 GPA but I have a 3.6 for my pre req's for NOVA. My science GPA is currently a 2.8 but I still need to take CHM 2, and Org. Chem's 1 & 2.

From what I hear, older students are generally stronger candidates than third year undergrads, is that true? In general, would you think I'm a strong candidate. I'm sweating thinking about competing against some of you younger students.

Anyone in their late 20's or older with some feedback?

Thanks

G

Apply early! This holds true at every school but especially Nova. This school receives a ton of applications each year. Also, they will not consider you until after you complete Organic I. Make sure you have a competitive PCAT score as well.

I am in my mid 20s, fresh out of college with a Bachelor of Science. I recently interviewed at Nova. Having a degree will give you an edge over undergraduates with similar stats. At your interview, make sure you can explain why you want to switch careers. Good luck!
