Okay,
I didn't want to ask this, but I am really in need of help. I just scored a low 19L on the MCAT. I have a 3.91 overall GPA with tons of EC, and volunteering experience. Should I waste my time applying now, or just wait and take the August exam?

I wouldn't try to apply. With your GPA you are gonna have to prove to them you can do better than that on the monster. One good thing, if you go to a pretty good school and got a 3.9 GPA you may have an excuse to why you did poorly on your test(bad headache or something). But if you go to a school with a lower rating (they all have this system of knowing which schools are good) they may see your GPA as a fluke or look as if you didn't have to work so hard. Either way I think it behooves you to retake the killer.

But this is just my opinion.

I would do both!! Apply now and take the Aug MCAT. Don't wait and put yourself at a time frame disadvantage.

I would study hard and retake the MCAT. Your gpa certainly suggests that you can do better. AMCAS and secondaries are both labor intensive and costly- I'd stack the deck in my favor as much as possible by achieving a significantly higher MCAT score. Best of luck!

definately take the MCAT again...a 3.91 GPA is no fluke, i'm sure you can do much better. do well on the next exam and aim at the ivy leagues. no reason to settle for less, unless u're lazy and don't wanna take it again. 😴
