Hello! Urgent help needed!🙁

I got engaged in January and my fiancee, who is a US national, submitted my fee from his MC card. Sadly, we broke up this week.

Now he is asking for his money back which is very fair and my dad has agreed to return it as well. But our only concern is that after we return his fee into his account, he might refund his fee from my application as well, or might call the bank and stop the transaction.

My question is, is that possible? My application is still in process and when I check my 'Financial Account Summary' my step 1 fee also says 'in process' That makes me worried cause if we return him and he cancels my fee as well we don't have any more money to apply again. Please reply clearly and quick

We broke up due to very major reason, or he wouldn't be asking the fee back and we wouldn't be worrying about him cancelling the transaction. Please answer the asked question if you have any information!

Call usmle ask them to cancel fee on his card and pay with your own card. Pretty obvious and definitive solution.

I'm an IMG, we apply through ecfmg website, if this your case and the payment is made from your financial account not from his MC directly then if the money was to be refunded it will be refunded into your ecfmg financial account #1. In any case I don't think that exam fee are refundable except if your application rejected by ecfmg and if he doesn't have your ecfmg account info he won't be able ( even if possible) to cancel your application #2. I don't think that the bank can force any third party to make a refund for a pre-authorized transaction (even with client request), You can call the bank to confirm that #3.

No the fee was paid directly through his mc. I'm just waiting for my permit cause once I have the permit I think he won't be able to refund the fee.
He doesn't have my info so I don't think he can cancel my application, maybe just his own transaction through the bank. Which I can't confirm by calling the bank as I don't know the info of his account.
It's a complicated situation but thank you for your answer cause it gave me some clarity

thank you so much, looks like there is no way he can refund the fee, but it is so important to me so I'll call ecfmg and make sure
