So I just finished my last day of my ippe rotation at an independent. On my last day, my preceptor called me into his office and evaluated me based on my "experience" there. I'm assigned to that ippe site for a total of 6 days however he was only there to to see me work for the first 2 days but for the rest of the 4 days my preceptor was out of town and another pharmacist was there.

My preceptor proceed to quiz me on some materials that should have learn thus far at the pharmacy (which I am totally fine given that I was never taught anything). My preceptor then apologized that he never had the chance to teach me anything. When all I got to do was count the pills. I never got to any of the activities that the preceptor was suppose to teach me like counseling or learn OTC products. Then he said that I was smart and worked very seriously. However, he told me that he wrote in my evaluate that I was "shy" and did not communicate with anyone there. I was shock by what he said because I do talk however he was never there to witness me do it except the other Pharmacist. I didn't want to complain because the evaluation had already been done and submitted. I felt like I did not receive a fair evaluation because he was not there most of my time at my ippe (the other pharmacist was) and did not teach me the things that he was suppose to (as assigned by the school).

what should I do?

First, take a deep breath and take this into perspective. Alright. The preceptor may have spoken to other staff members- maybe even just a single one who you didn't interact much with- who said you were shy. Honestly, this evaluation is not going to affect you in any way. If you are thinking of doing residency, these evals will not be seen by the people evaluating residency (or job) apps. What you should learn from this is that although you perceive yourself as outgoing and sociable, and you likely are, just know that there are others who have a different idea of this. During your next rotation, make more if an effort than usual to interact with the people around you (when it's appropriate, and in a professional way). Just take this as a learning experience and know that it honestly is not going to impact your future. Just don't ask this preceptor for a letter of rec.

Just ignore and move on. Don't let it get inside your head and stress you out. The preceptor failed to do his part and you personally know that and if you believe in karma then maybe that preceptor will have something coming his way...

Anyhow, at your school, do you do an evaluation on the IPPE site/preceptor performance? That is your chance to tell the truth.
