Do you know who emailed her? If it looked like a mass email (from a DCT or something similar) than it might mean that they sent all the invites at once. But if it was from a POI or a specific lab, and you have different POIs, I wouldn't give up hope yet. Good luck!

I dont think it necessarily means anything unless it was a mass email; last year I got 9 interviews, and only 2 of them were like that. I had one where I was invited first and friend was invited over 2 weeks later.

I applied there as well... and haven't heard anything yet! This makes me a little nervous, but I assume they're going person-by-person considering I haven't even received confirmation they received my app (if the postal service lost it...😡). Out of curiousity, when did you and your roommate each send out your apps? I wouldn't worry at this point, if I were you. I will keep you updated, however, if I hear anything. Best of luck!

Thanks for the info 🙂 I sent it out right before the postmark deadline, makes me feel a little less nervous since it seems they're going by received date for the first set of emails. Nevertheless, it's difficult to speculate what order they are reviewing apps, I wouldn't take not hearing back to mean anything at this point. From what I read about interview notices in the past, people didn't receive them from Pacific until late Jan/early Feb. I'll keep you updated if I hear anything 🙂 waiting is such a painful process.

I was all set to ignore this thread before I realized it was about Pacific U. Theirs is kind of a pivotal application for me -- it's the only in-state program I've applied to. If nothing comes of this application, my choices are massively different -- it's time to pull up stakes (assuming I'm accepted somewhere!). I applied late November, got a version of the "your application is complete" email mid December, which had a specific mention that I could expect further news in late January/early February. Given that timeline and the fact nobody else here has received anything else directly, I'm not too bothered.

I'd greatly appreciate any info as interview invites role out -- who they were issued by, any news about wait lists, etc...

Thanks for the post, it alleviated my nervousness a bit, let us know if/when you hear anything else. On another note, Pacific is the ONLY school I applied to, so I know what you're feeling... I live in OR, too, and can't really afford to move at this point (and really want to get my PsyD). Hopefully we'll all get the opportunity to interview.

Also, to the OP: I've been thinking about my app at least 10x a day, wondering when I'm going to hear back... without this thread I'd really be in the dark (and likely wouldn't have posted anything myself), so thanks again!

It looked like an individual. What is a DCT? I DO think, though, that the same person who emailed her to inform her of the invite would be the one to inform me of an invite, as that person's name/email address was listed in the initial email I reicved from Pacific. But no, it didn't seem like a fancy, mass-mail email.




Only 2 of them were mass emails?

I wonder if it might mean they prefer her over other applicants, or if just means they got to her app first(even though they recieved my materials first....)? Do you think that those who recieve invites earlier are preferred over those that recieve later invites?

I think I sent mine out towards the end of December. When did you send yours out?

I got an email from Pacific saying that my file was complete and ready for review on 1/7. She got the same email on 1/18, and then heard about the invite a couple of days ago. Hope this is helpful!

Oh, also, it sounds like Pacific U interview days are Friday/Saturday, March 5/6. So keep that in mind.

Idunno, she got in and I didnt, and I got my interview invite 2 weeks earlier than her, so so much for that. I actually think once you are invited, everyone is on an even playing field...

I personally know many individuals who also applied to the PsyD program at Pacific and have not heard one way or another. I also know of some people who have received invitations to interview.

So my roommate and I both applied to the Pacific U PsyD program. I got an email from them Jan 8th saying my application was complete and ready for review. She got an email from them Jan 17th saying the same thing.

Today she got an email inviting her to interview. I have not. Should I be worried? Do you think they just got to her app first, or does this mean I have less of a chance of being offered an interview? What does this mean?

Don't count yourself out yet... some people may decline interviews... You never know.
