My friend has a 3.17 overall gpa, 2.81 sci gpa, 75 PCAT score, no degree, a year and a half of experience as a pharm tech, donated $5,000 to a homeless care group which helped a homeless couple get put into an apartment. He also helps these people and others who live in shelters by supplying them and aiding with pharmaceutical products. He has also told me that he has an awesome personal statement and letters of recommendation.

Since he has a bunch of the requirements completed since this is his 4th year, he tells me that he plans to apply to at least 30 schools. Do you think that he will get in somewhere since he will be applying to this many schools? He always asks for my opinion but I really do not know. What do you guys think?

He will likely get some interviews if he's applying to that many schools, and depending on how he performs in those he should be in decent shape to get in somewhere.

1st of all, his GPA is not low, do not let people discourage you from applying.

when the school said average GPA for accepting is 3.3, now that is AVERAGE...NOT LOWEST...so there is 50% of people above that and 50% below it. ..

Each candidate is different...getting in pharmacy is NOT about GPA....

Yes, GPA is not the only thing that matters. And I'm sure adcoms are going to open their eyes when they look at what he did for the homeless people in Detroit.

did anybody else think that mccain was asking about palins chances after reading the subject title? .......... "my friends...."
