So I bought the ADEA book and went through all the schools and shaved my list down to 10 schools. Since I am taking my DAT's after the application opens I have to know what school's I want to apply to when I register for my DATs.

I just wanted some feedback on my selections and what schools I could add/remove.

I'm a non traditional, asian male applicant with a 3.5 oGPA/sGPA. Assuming I got an 17-18 overall on the DATs (obviously shooting for much higher) what schools would you guys recommend?

My list so far (in no particular order, but Maryland is my top choice since im a resident)

1. University of Souther California
2. Western University of Health Sciences (Cali)
3. Nova Southeastern University (Florida)
4. University of Maryland*
5. Tufts University (Mass)
6. University of Detroit Mercy (Mich)
7. University of Buffalo (NY)
8. Temple University (PA)
9. University of Pittsburgh (PA)
10. Virginia Commonwealth University

Thanks in advance!

I would add a lot more private schools. Your GPA is average. I would really try to aim for 19+. 17-18 overall probably isn't going to do you any favors. Try to get 20 and higher in important sections (RC, BIO etc.) lower scores (18 and 19) in math, and other less important sections aren't going to kill you. I would add the Midwesterns, Roseman, LECOM, NYU, BU etc. Unless you get 22+ you are going to want to apply broad to ensure you get in. Apply early! good luck!

Agreed. +1

what's your home state and what's "non-traditional" about you?

thanks for the input. I am definitely shooting for much higher than a 17-18 but I just used that as a base score instead of assuming im going to get like a 25 or something. I'll definitely look over the schools you suggested, I had roseman and NYU on my list before I shaved it down to 10 but perhaps i should just add them both, what's the harm right?

my home state is Maryland. And i should probably be careful how i used the phrase "non-traditional" cuz even i dunno what it means completely, but i meant to say that i'm not a science major and im only taking bare minimum requirements as a dental school applicant.
