Here is my history.

When I was in undergrad, I had help my mom with a ton of things for her business and I also was visiting the doctor. What had happened was that after I was discharged from the army, I was having some mental health issues that were bothering me a lot. Even with all those problems, I forced myself to go to college and get my education. So, basically my life was about going to school full time, but also help my mom with her business and going to my doctor appointments. I never seemed to have time for anything. I was still maintaining my GPA above 3.8. Long story short, I did not get to know any of my professors and I did not get to do much research. I mean, I have some little experience doing tests on worms, but it was very superficial and I didn't learn anything really. other than that, I do not have any other research exposure. I worked as research assistant for a year for a medical school but I was just doing paperwork, nothing academic. So, the problem that I am facing is that I intend to get involved in research and my life is in order, but as expected, they are expecting some sort of experience, papers published preferably, poster presentations and the whole deal. I don't have any of that, I can't produce the letters of recommendations that they are asking, and thus I am unable to apply for these summer research experiences.

What am I supposed to do?

This research you listed here is sufficient to get you into medical school. Maybe not at Duke or Pitt, but plenty of medical schools aren't so focused on research.
