I don't get it...I must be ******ed. I've taken lots of practice tests (Kaplan, Topscore, ASCO sample), and none of them match my actual scores at all (took test last week).

Usually, as I've seen in the threads, people score higher then their practice tests, but keep their best sections the best, and worst their worst...you know? But for me, my best sections on the practices were my worst, and my worst became my best.

For example, on the ASCO sample ---> Actual

QR: 350 ---> 320 🙁
RC: 320 ---> 270 (ouch) :scared:
Bio: 320 --->330 😳
Gchem: 310 --->330 🙂
Ochem:310 --->350 😀
Phys: 300 --->350 😀

AA: 320 --->330 😳
TS: 310 --->350 😀

Notice the QR and RC going down, and the OChem and Physics going up? Did this happen to anyone else? It's not because I spent more time/less time studying each section b/c I took the ASCO the day before the actual.

I guess what I'm trying to say is...don't trust your general patterning? But then again, it might just be me.

Also, Kaplan, and Topscore are way harder then the actual. Let just say I NEVER got above a 300 AA for any of the tests; so besides the randomness, I guess I did decent in the end.

Oh and one last word of advice...don't get used to the Reading Comp. questions on the practice tests. Instead, prepare to answer whether statements are true, or not, and be able to interpret the passages (not just scan). There were way more inference questions, then I was used to. 🙁

Hey!
I was in the exact same situation as you. My best was my worst and vice versa. I also scored REALLY low on the RC (what was up with some of those questions😕 ) I think the test is just wonky these days lol.

Hey, me too. My RC score was very good...360 last time I took it but this time it was 290. So I was shocked by the difference. Well with the new OAT aren't there less questions on the RC, so if you miss some, the score will drop more dramatically. Oh well, I might try again :meanie: 🙂

oh yeah, and just to help you guys out since we're all in the same pool, if you're applying to SCCO, they're requiring at least a 300 in reading. The decision was made a couple weeks ago. It's just so sad. And if you didn't know yet, NECO requires at least a 290. Those passages were just so BORING to me!!!

OMG really? Well...bye bye CA beaches for me... :-( . Even NECO? How come the schools don't post this stuff in their requirements? Application money? Grrrr....

Some of the passages were okay...i just couldnt shake the habit of scanning, even after i saw all the inference questions ::sighs::

Yeah, I know this because scco's admin director gave me a heads up, and NECO emailed me saying so. I'm just hoping there would be exceptions!!! :scared:
