Alright, so this is probably inappropriate, but I am kind of freaking out.

I am developing a raised red rash all over my face. (This just in time for my long-awaited foreign vacation tomorrow--not in time to get me out of call in the PICU). It looks a lot like acne, but has come up over the past five hours (and is unlike an acne I have ever had). It is just on my face and I am totally fine otherwise. (No new products, no new drugs).

I am trying to decide if I should write myself a bit a prednisone, take all of the allergy pills in the house, and/or wander by ye olde ED and see if anyone has any clues. (I know if I saw a patient with this who was not systemically ill I would tell them to take some benadryl and f/u with PMD.)

Any help would be appreciated.

Well, based on your non-medical description, I'd say, "Take some benadryl and f/u with PMD"

Post some pics for us

Then again if you have a significant palmar rash you may come to regret that night spent in Tijuana. Ahh Tequila...

Derm problems are always vague. Could be Rosacea, however it sounds most like an acute allergic dermatitis from the rapidity of its development.

As someone said benadryl. As a test you could try a bit of topical cortisone in a small patch and see if it improves there.
