I feel like if I put it here it'll make it legit somehow. I'm taking some of my prereqs at a community college because that's all I can afford. I'm registering for the minimum number of hours at the university because I need health insurance and am unemployed right now. I'll register for more hours at the university later as I can afford it. My BA is in English, 3.5ish (3.6? have to look) gpa w/honors thesis and graduate coursework in writing. I took a nursing biology course and got a C once but that was when I was diagnosed w/a chronic illness (see more below). I took a practice MCAT without taking any of the classes (from the AAMC website) and scored 38, but will wait to take the actual MCAT until after I'm done with my prerequisites.
Criticisms? Ideas?

Nontraditional student, paid for expensive life/education by myself, got diagnosed with a chronic illness that is no longer an issue with my current life due to medication management, influenced choice to become doctor (but will not likely talk about it in personal statement b/c I have other stuff to talk about too). Three semesters research in psychometrics lab. 8 mo. full time ER tech/phlebotomist/etc. NREMT-B. Work in a variety of settings unrelated to medicine (ie corporate real estate, pastry chef, dog groomer, horse trainer). Trying to get into a neurology or neuroscience lab soon. Former technical writer in public health. Successful ceramist/artist. Writing two books related to medicine/history of medicine, hopefully one under contract before applying.
Ideas? Criticism?
Also does anyone know about the fee waiver? I will be eligible, I think.
