My primary was verified early and I am receiving secondaries right now. However, I retook the MCAT on June 14th and won't get a score until July 15th.

My primary was verified early and I am receiving secondaries right now. However, I retook the MCAT on June 14th and won't get a score until July 15th. I pre-wrote all 42 secondaries, and I am currently submitting. The only school that told me that they will delay is Wake Forest.

My first score was a 511 (for context). I already submitted to Einstein, Mich, NYMC, and Vermont.

received Miami, Hofstra, Northwestern, Cornell, Sidney Kimmel, Tulane, Suny Downstate, Rochester.

Will schools begin evaluating my application before my second score? Do we just not know the answer to this? How will this impact my cycle? Please share any details that you know. Thank you!!!!!

Unless they say so, schools could go ahead and review your application until your new scores come in. I don't know if they'll make a decision with your old score or wait until the new one (that depends on each school). Just trust the process.

so I should submit ASAP or wait? I rlly dont know what to do @wysdoc @Mr.Smile12
There's no reason why you should wait to submit secondary essays. You control when your file will be reviewed; your other score will come when it does. You are not the first nor the last applicant that has a June score coming. Get it done.

Secondaries are often a tax on the hopelessly optimistic.

A 511 MCAT score is not viable at einstein, northwestern, and Cornell.

That is why I retook the exam, and hence my question. Instead of hating on the hopelessly optimistic, provide some advice please. Submit secondaries now, or wait for another score?

Wait until you have your score. Not hating on you, just explaining why schools like to send these things out. They are a Revenue source.

But applicants need to be realistic in which schools they're applying to.

How about completing the secondaries for schools where you are currently competitive. Northwestern, Michigan, Einstein etc will still be accepting applications when you get your new score. If you do well on the retake you can do the secondaries. If not find new schools. And remember many schools average multiple scores.

Save your money and submit after you get your scores. You might want to slim down your list depending on how you do the second time around. Some schools use the info AMCAS provides that you are scheduled for or have retaken the exam and they will hold off on reviewing until the second score arrives but, as mentioned above, you can't guarantee that they won't grab your application now, see the 511 and dump you. Don't give them that opportunity.
