I have 4 PI's throughout my years, and they wrote letters for me. I created AMCAS letter ID's for them. My adviser decided to include merely snippets of these letters in his committee letter without telling me, and I found out through AMCAS and schools about the snippets. I was told by AMCAS to mark those letters as no longer being sent.

Do schools accept these "snippets" of letters or should I create new request forms and send them in myself through AMCAS? Or to the schools directly?

No, the schools will want to see the actual PI letters. I seriously doubt any will consider a composite letter to be sufficient.

Many UG schools do a HPE. That is taken by some MD/PhD programs in lieu of letters. However, some MD/PhD programs do require letters from your research lab PIs.

Hm. Relax and deep breaths, then resend the letters through AMCAS. You should also notify your school that many schools require the full letters for MD/PhD from every PI you have worked for, so that they don't do this to other candidates in the future.

Yeah. I found that loophole that letters marked as "no longer being sent" will STILL be sent to the older schools, so what I did is independently contact them and put the letter # on a new printed out letter and they'll send them on Monday.

An update:

Most schools should have got it around Aug 08 or 09. Feels good to see a few "Complete!" emails in the ol' inbox.

But no invites 🙁
