my scores

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Cdp, the 5 test version.. I really don't want to take it again... What do you guys think?🙁

That 16 in PAT sticks out like an eye sore.

You might want to call the individual schools to ask how important they consider the PAT.

i also feel like a 20 AA is far from stellar (esp on this website)

this site is not normal. the people who are obsessed with getting into dental school spend hours each day on here. that's not normal and it's not the average applicant. they help each other get better scores. you're scores (except PAT) are better than average, but even your PAT meets most schools minimum. if your GPA is above average as well then you have a good chance. the PAT is only one piece of a very large application puzzle. but definitely call the schools you plan to apply to and ask them how the view the PAT.

good luck.

I believe I have seen charts and graphs floating around SDN that suggest dental schools rank PAT of the lowest importance.

Incorrect, my friend. The PAT is an important factor in the DAT, regardless if "some schools" may rank it lower in importance than other schools.

OP, you CAN get good at PAT. No one sucks harder than me at PAT, I guarantee you that. I can't tell you if you should retake or not. How's your GPA/ECs?

Nothing relevant on page 40.

"Figure 14: Number of Students in United States Dental Schools Receiving Credit for Previous Academic Work, 2009-10"

Well if you look at the top it displays the number of pages 40/96(where your printer, save button etc is). Then scroll down to page 32.

Did you find it UCSD1984?

that graph has been posted in other threads before. it doesn't support the argument that the PAT is the least important section, but it does clearly show that the QR is the least respected section across the board. if you add up the 'very important' and 'somewhat important' column for each section you find that the PAT is more widely considered to be of value (50 schools) than QR (40 schools) and it's not even that close. the graph shows the PAT is more along the lines of RC (54 schools) in it's value to dental schools.

Yes sir. 34 schools find PAT very important, 16 find it somewhat important, and 8 find it somewhat unimportant.

The reason I'm not fond of this data is because for all we know, the OP is applying to 15 out of the 34 schools that find the PAT very important. The information you pointed out to me is valid and note-worthy, but inapplicable unless we know exactly which schools are saying what. In this case, it might as well be considered useless, or close to it.

so my overall gpa is a 3.2 and my science gpa is a 3.5
i'm a non trad, originally finance major, and before i started taking pre-reqs my GPA was a 2.8, so i brought it up considerably with just science classes. i have mostly A's and 2 B's with a dense course load each semester.

has anyone here gotten in with similar stats or a low PAT?
