I'm reapplying with these stats to DO programs. Do you think I have a chance?
I keep doubting myself.

3.30 Sci GPA
3.48 Overall GPA

MCAT Scores (took twice)
V9 P8 W0 B8 250
V8 P9 WS B7 24S

Lots of extracurriculars and service work.

Did you not get into any DO's the first time around? Or just apply to Allo schools and get rejected? With those number I find it hard to believe you didn't get into any DO programs.

I agree.

Did you just apply late in the game last time? Your numbers are fine for DO school. BTW, way to bring the WS up.

Your MCAT is fine but your GPA is a little low. You are a borderline candidate for a DO school and not a very good one for an allo school.

I applied allopathic the first time around. I submitted secondaries in January so I did apply late in the game.

Thanks for replying everyone and for the encouraging words. The last post is a little discouraging, but I'll take it to heart to make my app stronger then. Thanks!

Thanks Kubed!

keep that attitude and you'll achieve what you'd like to achieve

as far as i'm concerned, youll have no problem with an osteopathic acceptance

i assume youve graduated from undergrad--what are you doing in the meantime?

and lastly...apply early!

that statement is nonsense. I had a 3.1 and a 28 and got a sh#tload of interviews and accpetances for DO schools. I had no luck with allo however. they are definetly more strict with the numbers. The most important thing is to apply early!!!!! I didnt get in the first time because I turned my secondaries in at the last minute and got no love. I applied early the next cycle and was accepted by thanksgiving. Then I just sat back and let the good times roll. Good luck.

People tend to dismiss the WS score, but it is one that I allways keep an eye out for. As a proud member of the "N" club, it's good to see someone who can write. Good luck.

Thanks all of you who responded. You're wonderful. 🙂 Good luck to all of you!!!
