Okay, here goes... im 100% certain that i want to become a physician but after high school i really fouled up, im sorry to say. As i was wandering aimlessly through the halls of my local community college contemplating what i wanted to do with the rest of my life, managed to squander 3 1/2 half years of my life. Of course, i only went to school part time and worked full time because i really wasnt motivated to study anything in depth at the time.

I ended up transferring to my state university when i finally deciphered what i wanted to do. Im about to graduate with a BS in biomedical engineering, i have a 3.67/science 3.55 gpa, scored a 29 on my mcat, plenty of ec's and experience. I guess im just wondering what my chances are of getting accepted into any med school in light of my past procrastination. Please be honest, be brutal (not that it will be a prob for some of u as i skim thru the posts lol) if you must. But i want the truth 😳

Your stats aren't golden, but they are by no means terrible. I think you're being way too hard on yourself. You should be able to get into your state school for sure.

Actually I think that GPA could be quite good since it's in biomedical engineering. To me that would maybe make your stats above average - I think you would have quite a good chance of getting in to an MD school. Just explain your thought process that led you to decide on medicine in your personal statement, so that they know that once you decided on medicine, you stopped procrastinating and got focused. 👍

you can check out my stuff. i got in. u got good chanceS!
