Hey guys, sorry for being late in posting this, I'm still trying to recover.

At any rate. I dont know what to tell you guys. That test is NOT difficult. It truly is somewhat basic and you can probably pass strictly by knowing FA. But this is pass, in the minimum sense of the word.

However..............I think i really might have failed. Reason. Well I seriously had a panic attack of sorts 2 days before the exam. I couldnt think, or do $hit. It really was frustrating. I knew my stuff and everything, however, when it came down to it,I really blew it because of nervousness. During blocks 1-5 I seriosuly could not concentrate, I was virtually just hitting buttons. Blocks 6-7 I actually concentrated, and ruled stuff out and the exam didnt seem so bad.

Bottom line? Dont freak out like I did. And next, just seriously know the basics real cold. My experience w/ the test was that they dont really test you on too much detail or 'hard' stuff. They test concepts and realllllllllllllly easy stuff, however, they precede these questions w/ long vignettes. So dont get bogged down by the actual question, as I did. In fact, I would even suggest going to the last line of the question as others stated. It really would be a better idea.

Oh and almost all the questions I got were a lot shorter! they werent long as qbank. And another thing, build yourself confidence so that you dont second guess yourself, I was too often than not second guessing.

All in all, guys if I pass it will be a miracle. I feel like such an idiot for 'panicking' but I did. If I pass it's seriously all God. So the next time you all drink some mountaindew , I'd appreciate the prayer or atleast the thought.

p.s.

The way I studied:
during the year I used step up and pathophys for boards and wards and FA.

During the 2mo prior to the boards I used Kaplan and FA. I must say that kaplan does a somewhat good job. Qbank w/o kaplan isnt as great. Obviously, qbank was written from stuff learned from Kaplan. Plus I think by doing kaplan you get somewhat of an orientation, whereas w/ just doing questions you are all over theplace.

Aight guys.. just pray :luck:

Will do. Best wishes, we all panicked during the exam and remember your pain!!!

Man i feel like i really Fed it up. And no this isnt a 'cover up'. I'm soooooooooo serious.

Thanks Big Frank. I'd appreciate your prayers. Perhaps I'll be 3/4 as blessed as you were.

It's kind of funny guys. I am catholic, etc, been going to catholic schools all my life. It takes something like this stupid test to get me to become 'religious'. You know guys....

I think as med students it's soooo easy to acquire this invincibility attitude, especially when one is doing quite well in school. However, i think it takes an experience like this to 'humble' one of us down.

At any rate...

Thanks everyone!

We'll all be pulling for you mountain! 🙂 You never know how you've done for sure until you open that envelope.

Hang in there MD! We've all got confidence that in two years you'll be "MD M.D." Try not to sweat it too much...try to think of other things.
