Here's what I used as my study guides: Kaplan DAT book, Exam Kracker audio, and Barron's DAT.

  • Kaplan DAT book is quite good. The CD does give you a nice view of how the DAT looks like. The overview was good; however the biology section should go into more details.
  • Exam Kracker Audio: Great review. However don't expect to learn from it if you are a beginner. You must have a good basic understanding to find it useful.
  • Barron (How to prepare for the DAT): Worthless. Full of errors.

I'm in your shoes too. From what i understand, if you have a strong science GPA your science DAT scores are not as important, but still should be above average. If your science GPA is not as strong, you need to score really well on your DAT science section. Your other scores look great, but as a non-traditional student, they will question your ability to do well in dental school (not the clinical portion). But, you never know, you might dazzle them with your interview!
