Have you ever been reading a thread when you see someone who has 1000+ posts and was a member for many years get banned. It always makes me sad, its like someone quickly ending a long serious relationship. The odd thing is, many times if you read their post history, they haven't said anything especially out of line. This always baffles me. Are these people sending malacious PMs to moderators or what? I just feel like it would take a pretty serious offense for a long-time member to be banned, but often times non can be found. Perhaps the mods just get tired of them. Thoughts

the inflammatory posts usually get deleted (see chemboy on the predental forum).

Careful! You're nearing the first checkpoint. Every time your post increases by a magnitude (except during your first 100 posts which is the grace period), you get checked by the mods. If your posts are annoying, inflammatory or otherwise subpar, you run the risk of being randomly banned. I'm already prepping for the second checkpoint (at 10,000 posts) -- I've heard they require you to pass a special test at that point, since you get another forum opened to you for being one of the "elite" members. (At 1,000 posts, you'll get the senior SDN board opened to you IF you pass the test. It's pretty sweet, I must say.)

lol I figured...I just didn't understand why someone (even if it wasn't apumic) went to the trouble of making a convincing photoshop of the forum page...

I mean I knew if it was real I'd be able to see it anyway since I've got over 1000 posts, but the shop is really convincing and I couldn't fathom him taking the time to edit it lol...

Maybe 10, actually. I think it actually took more time to upload it than to create the snapshot. Then again...maybe this all is real and the 1000+ people are simply conspiring to keep our top secret SDN market and voting meetings a secret....

I remember reading that once after an upgrade the mod forum was visible to everyone else. This fixed that pretty quick though

There's KIND of an "elite forum" on SDN. The "Chiefs Room" on the Residents board can only be accessed by current/past chief residents 😛
