Hi, Im a recent graduate from may 2018. I took my first attempt of Naplex in 2018 December and failed with 68 points and I have received same exact score in march 2019.

I have couple of questions
1. Should I ask for rescore ? I took my exam in California under Virginia state but I am going to transfer my score to California ? What should I do?

2. From first attempt to now I changed the way I was studying I had a study partner finished all the chapters. I used Rxprep but this time I had a majority of biostatistics questions not the formula kind the other kind with interpretation into a statement which I absolutey don't know how to answer them. Is there any advice anyone can give me. I am scared that ill fail again and have to do intern hours for a year.

Please help me !!!

You are very unlikely to see any change if you ask for a rescore. That's a good way to throw away money.

I can't offer any advice other than get a good prep book and learn that material front and back. Studying for this exam should be your full-time job, because failure to achieve licensure means you have thrown away the last 4-8 years of your life.

Which school did you go to?

Yeah, don't ask for a rescore. Instead, take some time off from work and study for this test like your life depends on it. If you're in CA, don't forget that CPJE is also heavy on the clinical portion and this requires a tremendous amount of energy to prepare for as well. Some questions I have for you are: 1) When you used RxPrep, did you take the quizzes and try out the mock-NAPLEX? Those resources are very helpful to get a sense of how well you'd do in the real test, and 2) When you study with your partner, did you guys try making charts to aid in memorization for each topic? I personally find mnemonics useful for memorizing drugs in certain category, so maybe that'd be helpful for you as well.

In any case, don't lose hope. You can do it, so keep trying until you pass 🙂

NAPLX is a minimum competency test. Just let that sink in for a little bit. Minimum competency. If you are making this many mistakes now imagine what could happen if you made a mistake with a patient's medications.

idk about thrown away. There are jobs they can get that don't require a active license. Insurance, FDA, ect...

Rx prep quizzes and mock. Aex i always scored around 66-70 %i scored good on prenaplex from nabp before i went to the exam i got a 75 and 72 I thought i did good thistime .

Also me and my study partner used to talk about the chapter we read that day and like ask some questions from it or do rxprep quizzes together

I never actually looked into those FDA jobs, but I guess that makes sense. It isn't like you are dispensing medications or anything.

There is no point in rescoring, the scoring is done by computer, so unless you like drooled over the test or something making all your answers smudge so the machine couldn't read it, the rescore will show the exact same score.

But I just remembered, you younguns imput all your answers on the computer, not on paper, so there is absolutely no reason to have a rescore.

Your school has mightily failed you. For all the money you paid your school (let me guess, it was a private for-profit), they owe it to you to teach you what they didn't teach you in school. I would contact your school and tell them you need help. They probably won't be able to help you, since if they couldn't be bothered or weren't capable to teach you when you were their paying student, probably nothing will be different now.

Some places will look at a Pharm D as equivalent to a BS, so places that require a BS (in anything, not a specific subject) will look at you as a candidate. But actual jobs that require a Pharm D without a Pharm D license are almost non-existent (in other words you aren't going to get one, just like you aren't going to win the lottery.)

This is terrible. 75 is the minimum passing.....do NOT take the NAPLEX again until you can (at a minimum) consistently score 85 or higher on practice tests. When you are getting 75 and 72 on your practice exams, that means there is a good chance you will not actually pass the NAPLEX. It sounds like you are counting on your test mates to do even worse than you, so that you can benefit from a curve and pass, but that won't happen. There are many pharmacy students who went to reputable schools that have a 95%+ pass rate.

Remember, 85 (or higher) on practice tests, if you want to pass the NAPLEX.

You should not be a pharmacist.

It’s really not that hard of a test... passed with a high margin my first try. I didn’t even study, I literally skimmed rxprep for 3 weeks. Passed on my first try. And I wasn’t a high performer in school.

I know one person from a very old school with a decent pass rate (85% or something) who failed first go around. Another one from a school with a 90% plus pass rate school who failed twice. Both are working now. Just saying.

Something is off here... So you have a study partner who is also failing his/her exams? Why are you guys studying together when both of you guys failed the first time? I feel like one of you guys are holding each other back. I would try studying solo and keep doing full practice exams while timing myself and reviewing my weak points. Make sure you know you calculations, those are easy points that you don't want to miss. What school did you graduate from?
