Navy GPR/AEGD

I know this topic is probably covered but if someone don't mind reiterating the information, I would very much appreciate it. What is the pros/cons of doing a Navy AEGD/GPR residency vs. not doing any? Is it really worth it?

I am more interested in general dentistry at this point. So I guess my question is more focus on the pros and cons of AEGD vs. not doing a residency.
